The Sahale ShindigHi NW Permaculture Friends, We are so excited the unique community driven format this year. Its non-hierarchical giving everyone a space to share, from formal presentations to open mic and trade-blanket. Meals and camping are provided, indoor sleeping option at low additional cost. The large tent hall is also open to lay your mat on the floor if you'd like to camp light. Children are free, our youth program is fun, and the venue is spectacular. Are you joining us? There’s still time to sign up for the 2021 gathering on the hood canal, Oct 15-17 at Sahale Retreat Center. A community collaborative event, we are riffing on the theme of open space and emergent design. Our team has created a basic structure, the schedule getting filled out as enthusiastic individuals join our meetings to share their stories. We are an all volunteer board and community collective, creating the event through the passions we have to offer, making space for you to do the same. Could be music. Could be mending clothes (bring something you have that needs mending - this is a real offer for a group activity!). Check out the schedule and offerings we expect so far. You are welcome to add your piece at our next meeting! Zoom meeting join info on the NWPCC website, usually 7-8pm PT. Next meetup is Oct 12th, a Tuesday. The NW Permaculture 2021 Questionnaire is another portal to speak your mind and shape the event. Covid Precautions: Sahale follows state mandates, and protects the health of its elder and at-risk residents through a diligent covid safety protocol. Our event will be totally outside or in open-air tent and open-wall spaces. Masks are required when passing through indoors, such as pickup up meals. While in the dining hall we must wear a mask, wash hands upon entering, get our meal and exit to eat outside, covered areas provided. Indoor bunk accommodations are for vaccinated folks in Sahale's group housing, unvaccinated folks seeking provided accommodations will be given a tent with a bed or other solo space, like a sunroom or have option to camp in the large outdoor tent. Hand washing and sanitizing stations will be abundant, with designated bathroom facilities for vaccinated and unvaccinated folks. Outside, masks and social distancing are encouraged as befits your own beliefs and comfort zones.
2020 Online Conference Videos: Our 1st ever virtual event, now on our new YouTube channel. Be sure to leave us a comment there and subscribe! We welcome community input. If you have anything to share, send it our way or tag northwest permaculture. We’d love to share your story and promote what permaculture looks like across our landscape. There is desire for a followup online gathering this fall focused around building connections and sharing gratitude. Let us know if you’d like to help. Scholarships and Work-trades: We kept our cost as low as possible this year, only charging a few dollars over the base room + meals cost of the venue for our annual administrative fees to sustain the organization. As such we have have limited work trade and scholarships. Please, don't hesitate to ask if you are in need and want to join! We have 50% off tickets available for those who can help with promotions and documentation. Northwest Native community members, we have a few 100% off tickets available for you!
