Hello Permaculture People!
We are looking forward to the convergence next month Oct 15-17 on the hood canal! Are you joining us? Open Space (Emergent Design) format, expect to encounter wonderful people, stirring conversations and hands-on projects! Friday: Arrive, settle in, meet each other, add to the schedule, dinner, music and art option! Saturday and Sunday: Join in our preplanned and your newly offered activities. We have scheduled plant walks, skill-shares, discussion groups / presentations and our Sahale-centered project reinvigorating the blueberry garden, with open mic and project sharing spaces. The land holds great trails, access it to the river and use of The Swamp, an open air barn/bar for music, drinks and lounging. Meals and lodging are included! Please do: --> bring a slideshow or short vid on a flash drive! --> bring your favorite teas, harvests and brews to share!) Camping + food $83 for the whole weekend, if you need a private room pay +$20/night. Register Here Note: Scholarships and some work-trades available! We are a all-volunteer board. 100% of ticket costs goes to our venue, education programs and annual organization maintenance costs. If you'd like to sponsor someone or support the work, please donate through paypal to registrar@northwespermaculture.org Our youth program will have morning and afternoon circle times directly after our meals, which lead to an upcycled fashion show project where youth make outfits for parents and organizers to parade in! After the structured session, children are released to “recess” a self-guided time to explore activities (seed bomb making, art, play) until the next meal. These circles and activities are optional, and otherwise the care and tending of children is assumed to be in the hands of caregivers who brought them and moderated by spontaneous community engagement. The activity tables welcome engagement no matter what age you are. Youth and Children: ages 12-18 can join for ½ price, those 0-11 are free! In other news: These classes are still coming up, and check out Jan Spencer's highlight reel of permaculture in action if you haven't had a chance! First are the links, full details follow.
