The Northwest Permaculture Convergence
The Northwest Permaculture Convergence is a conference. There are presentations, plenary sessions, unlimited networking, a Marketplace, and lots of fun. It is a unique gathering where individuals and organizations can show and tell what they are doing to help create a more peaceful, green and resilient culture and economy.
The Convergence is a unique place for diverse groups and people to come together to mix, mingle, network, and cross pollinate. We are all on the same team! And we need to focus on practical actions in the real world. Who will be interested? Students, urban gardeners, city planners, eco-village enthusiasts, neighborhood leaders, preparedness people, business persons, faith communities, seniors and young people, home school families and educators of all types.
The Details: As always, each attendee age 12 and over is asked to offer 2 hours of their time as a volunteer during the event; you can sign up for your time and station assignment at the Registration booth while checking in.
Field and forest camping is available, as are limited indoor sleeping spaces for folks who need them. Please note on your registration form if you need electricity and/or indoor accommodations (first come, first served as needed). Limited RVs and car camping will be accommodated onsite.
The Convergence will begin Friday afternoon at 1pm, continue all day Saturday, and into Sunday until 5pm; Friday morning can be used to enjoy our pre-event tours in Eugene as well as load into the Camp.
There will be 4-6 workshops happening simultaneously during each time slot, so choose your sessions wisely!
If you have an entertainment specialty, offer it! We have scheduled music and dance for Saturday night, and each evening and morning patrons will offer their specialties to us: Tai Chi, meditation, Yoga, poetry, music, and more. If you want to offer a drop-in morning or evening session, let us know!
Parents are expected to be responsible for their children when kids are not safely supervised in age-appropriate scheduled classes
Attendees are suggested to bring their own dishes, utensils and water bottle. We will have bottle-filling stations! Bring a portable chair and flashlight as well - after all, this is Camp!
Service animals are permitted with authorization; they must be able to interface with the human and non-human residents of Lost Valley. No non-service animals, please.
Don't forget cash for your Marketplace shopping. We will have vendors with all kinds of offerings to sell or trade for.
Bring an umbrella in case of rains! Workshops will be located in various areas of the property; bring sturdy shoes for lots of outdoor walking. Pack your clothing layers – be ready for warm or cold weather.
Electrical devices will be difficult to use and/or charge – reception is poor and electricity is extremely limited. Please bring your own mobile battery if you plan to take photos or charge any personal devices.
