Thank you to everyone who came to the 2021 Sahale Shindig Northwest Permaculture Convergence! We will be working on gathering pictures and media from the weekend to share on our Story page.
Last year 2021, we met at Sahale in Tahuya, Washington October 15th through 17th.
2021 was a year for tending the soil and Nurturing Community!
We planned an in person Open Space Format campout. We asked our participants to bring themselves, ingredients to contribute to meals, music, art, skill-shares and discussion topics. The schedule was filled with our collective offerings.
We followed our traditional schedule of Friday night to Sunday night full of workshops, skillshares, presentations, and heart to heart conversations.

How are we working on building community?
We have been been utilizing Slack to help organize our organization for the last couple of years. In 2018 we began to put together a Directory so that Permaculture folks can find each other. Please submit your info there so we can add you to the Directory! In 2019 we added a Facebook Community page where you can join, ask questions and share in your life experiences with other PNW Permaculture peoples. Also in 2019 we created a YouTube channel and have been working on gathering media to share there and upload. 2020's convergence really gave us a ton of content that we can share with everyone! For 2020 we added Discord to the mix. |

The ORGANIZATION:
Northwest Permaculture Convergence (NWPCC) is a Washington state 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Its purpose is to provide education in the use of Permaculture as a powerful tool for helping to design and bring into being a culture and economy that can fit far better within the boundaries of Planet Earth. NWPCC is organized by a volunteer Board that oversees the year-to-year organizing of the annual Northwest Permaculture Convergence (The Convergence), as well as several new projects designed to increase networking and build resilience within the Permaculture community.
The EVENT:
Entering its 14th year, the annual Northwest Permaculture Convergence (The Convergence) is an inclusive weekend-long event that alternates between the states of Oregon and Washington. The Convergence brings together a remarkable diversity of people to share their creative approaches for designing living environments, economic systems, and culture practices that thrive within ecologically sustainable limits. Long time enthusiasts and beginners alike pilgrimage from every corner of the Cascadian Bioregion, to educate on their successes (and failures!). Dozens of workshops and skillshares happen simultaneously all weekend long, making The Convergence a rich and valuable resource within our community.
The Board of Directors oversees event management and is fiscally responsible for each year's event. NWPCC teams up with local communities for 'Shoulder Events”,' supporting our allies with tours, panel discussions, workshops, and classes. Every year, the organization offers a number of volunteer and work trade positions. Ride shares, home stays and food donations can be arranged.
